SECOND PRECINCT

On Saturday May 21st , 2005 at 12:30 in the afternoon, a woman was abducted by her ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of the Cheesecake Factory in Westbury. For the next several hours she was driven around Nassau County in the backseat of a car where she was beaten, threatened with death and sexually assaulted. The ex-boyfriend and his two friends forced the women out of the car somewhere in Queens. The woman flagged down a New York City police car and explained what had happened to her. A car stop was made by the NYCPD and two subjects were arrested. The ex-boyfriend had gotten away.
Nassau County Detectives responded to the 105 Precinct to investigate the incident. Police Officers William McKean and Alan Seffens of the Second Precinct obtained information about the ex-boyfriend from the investigating detectives. The officers learned that the ex-boyfriend frequented a location on North Broadway in Hicksville. After numerous days of planning and waiting the officers were able to set up a sting operation with the cooperation of civilians and store owners at this location. On May 27th Officers McKean and Seffens successfully arrested the ex-boyfriend without incident and transported him to the Third Squad.
For their professionalism, initiative and investigative skills Police Officers William McKean and Alan Seffens have been selected as our Top Cops of the Month for May 2005.
