PBA President Gary Delaraba presents award to Police Officers Richard Ierardi and Michael Valente.

As partners, Officers Michael Valante and Richard Ierardi relentlessly pursued criminals in the communities affected by gangs, guns and drugs and in doing so placed many of them behind bars.

During this past year, Officers Valante and Ierardi have made 40 Felony and 75 Misdemeanor arrests. Of these two were for Murder, four for Robbery, and six handguns, a stun gun, and four gravity knives were taken off the streets. The Officers work in the First Pct. Task Force Against Gangs Unit has helped to form the framework upon which the countywide gang task force is modeled.

Police Officers Valante and Ierardi’s professionalism and dedication have earned them the respect and admiration of their peers. We are proud to call them “Nassau’s Finest”.

Nassau County Officer wins Carnegie Medal

Third Precinct Officer Mark Iovino was awarded the Carnegie Medal for his unbridled heroism. Iovino is one of 20 officers from the United States and Canada to receive the award.
