THIRD PRECINCT
On April 30,2006 at 1913 hours RMP 315 and RMP 321 were assigned to a shots fired call on Swalm Street in New Cassel. RMP 315 arrived on scene and broadcast a notification for a gold auto that fled the scene of a confirmed shots fired.
While en route to the assignment Police Officer Donald Coupe, assigned to RMP 321, observed a gold 1998 Mazda traveling southbound on Urban Ave. Officer Coupe stopped the vehicle and requested assistance. As Officer Coupe approached the vehicle he observed a bullet hole in the roof and blood on the interior. Officer Coupe took cover and waited for his assistance to arrive. With back-up on the scene the occupants were removed and a loaded 25 caliber handgun was recovered from one of the subjects.
Police Officer Donald Coupe using his keen observation skills while en route to an assignment located the vehicle involved in a shooting. His safe tactics led to the recovery of a loaded handgun and the arrest of two subjects without further incident.
