Top Cop Lifesaving Award 2005

PBA President Gary Delaraba presents lifesaving Award to Police officers, Lashinsky, Ross and Pasfield, Delay and McDowell.
On March 5, 2005 3rd pct Police Officers Robert Lashinsky, Devin Ross and Joshua Pasfield along with BSO officers Dennis Delay and Michael McDowell arrived at an apartment complex fire, which was fully engulfed in flames and thick black smoke.
While assisting the elderly residents exit the building the Officers were informed of a disabled victim trapped on the second floor. The Officers helped volunteer firemen gain access to the apartment. The fireman stated that they could not locate the woman and that it was too dangerous to enter the apartment. Despite the warning all the officers crawled into the superheated smoke filled room and located the victim. They carried the unconscious victim out of the fire to safety.
These officers acting with total disregard for their own safety saved a trapped invalid. We are proud to call them “Nassau’s Finest”.
