Patrolman Rose, while on patrol in a department patrol car, answered a radio call for a stick-up. He was shot at 8:16 p.m. by Edward T. Gladman, who was in flight from the commission of an armed robbery at the County Line Delicatessen on South Main Street, South Farmingdale.
