Police are looking for a man who they believe broke into a Massapequa church on Sunday afternoon, taking money from a donation box in the lobby.

The incident occurred at Our Lady of Lourdes on Carmans Road about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, when someone broke into the church through a rear glass door then broke into the donation box and took cash from it, Nassau police said.

It was unclear how much money was taken.

Police said a "suspicious person" had been seen in the area just prior to the break in.
