A couple returning home Tuesday night were robbed by a gunman as they exited their car in South Floral Park, Nassau County police said.

The robbery took place at 11:36 p.m. on Louis Avenue.

Police said as the couple exited their car a man, armed with a black handgun, approached the man and demanded cash.

As the man's wife ran to the house, police said the gunman pointed his gun at the man - and took his cash from his wallet and fled the scene.

No one was injured.

Police said the gunman wore khaki pants, a black and black baseball cap, a short black coat and a black handkerchief that covered his nose and mouth.
