Nassau County Police are hoping the public can help shed light on an early morning Saturday shooting in Lakeview.

The shooting happened at 2:10 a.m. in front of 453 Lafayette Ave., according to police.

Detectives say a group of people were talking in front of the address when a dark sport utility vehicle with four male occupants drove up, had a brief conversation with the group, and drove away.

A short time later, police say, the car returned and the front passenger fired six shots at the group striking one victim in the left elbow. The vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim was treated at an area hospital and released. No other injuries were reported, police said.
