Man arrested in Oyster Bay train station thefts

Police are looking for residents who believe they may have had items stolen from their cars near the Oyster Bay train station on Friday night.

The search comes in the wake of the arrest of Joseph Miglino, 18, of Rini Road in Glen Head, who police said attempted to break into "multiple vehicles near the station."

Police arrested Miglino at the station Friday night while he was brushing snow off a Ford pickup truck that they said he had broken into.

Police said Miglino had a backpack with assorted jewelry and small electronics, which they believe were stolen from other vehicles at the station.

Detectives ask people who believe they were victims of larceny at the station on Friday to call the Second Squad at 516-573-6252.

Miglino, who was scheduled to appear in court yesterday, was charged with third degree attempted grand larceny and fourth degree possession of stolen property.

Details of his court appearance were not available.
