An Elmont teen was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting after he surrendered to Nassau County police Monday at the Fifth Precinct.

Police said Hakeem Shabazz, of 10 Elmont Rd., is the second teen arrested in connection with the shooting, which was on Roquette Avenue in Elmont on Friday at 1:45 p.m.

Police said Shabazz and Jamel Washington, 18, "fired several gunshots at two victims in a car" on Roquette Avenue after an argument.

The victims fled in the vehicle and notified police. No one was injured.

Washington, of 42 Roquette Ave., was arrested at the scene Friday, police said. A handgun was recovered.

Shabazz and Washington are charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.

Shabazz was to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Washington was arraigned Saturday. His arraignment details were not immediately available Tuesday.
