Police: Man robbed during heroin deal called 911

A Seaford man who was robbed in North New Hyde Park during a heroin deal gone bad was arrested after he called 911 to report the robbery, Nassau County police said.

Christopher Canonico, 23, of 2051 Paddock Rd., arranged to meet two women -- identified by police as Katelyn Triolo, 20, of 1081 Carukin St. in Franklin Square, and Sue E. Farrell, 25, of 243 Roslyn Rd. in Mineola -- about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at a gas station at 2201 New Hyde Park Rd. to sell them heroin.

After the women got into Canonico's car, Adam Lang, 27, of 22 Eldridge Place in Glen Cove, approached the vehicle and pointed a handgun at Canonico, police said.

The trio stole his cellphone and wallet, as well as $340. As they fled, Canonico called 911 to report the robbery, neglecting to mention the heroin, police said.

The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of all four: Canonico, Triolo, Farrell and Lang, police said.

Canonico was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; Triolo and Farrell were each charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree robbery. Lang was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and four counts of fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon.

All four were to be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead.
