Police helicopter rescues 3 LI teens

Three teens fishing in Woodsburgh Channel had to be rescued Saturday by police chopper after they were stranded when the tide went out, Nassau County police said.
The boys, whose names were not released, were and taken to the Nassau police marine base around 1:40 p.m., where their parents came to pick them up, police said.
No one was injured.
The teens were fishing in a 14-foot 1998 McKee and became stranded 300 feet into the marshes off the channel, police said.
Because of the low tide, marine rescue vessels from the police, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Town of Hempstead Bay Constable could not reach the boys, police said.
The vessel is still stranded, police said, and it will be removed during the next high tide.
