Police say two teens have been approached by a strange car in the Elmont area on two different occasions.
Police search for man approaching teens in Elmont

Cops say last Wednesday a man in an SUV with tinted windows approached a boy on Doherty Avenue and Surprise Street.

The 14-year-old was asked to get into the man's car but the teen ran off.

Police say this Tuesday, a man matching the same description approached another 14-year-old boy on Benson and Johnson Avenues, just a block from Carlson Elementary School.

The man asked the boy to get in his car but that teen also took off.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
