Masked gunmen broke down the rear door of an occupied Hewlett home Friday, then fled in a stolen vehicle, police said, but were arrested an hour later by Nassau police.

Luis Rivera, 27, of 71 E. June St., Lindenhurst; Jean Louis, 22, of 1680 Straight Path, Lindenhurst; Julian Nunez, 19, of 220 Waco St., Lindenhurst, and Luis Rojas, 19, of 255 44th St., Copiague.

These four and a juvenile whose name was not released by police were charged with criminal use of a firearm, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of burglary Tools. The adults were also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Several of the defendants broke down the door of a home on Broadway about 1 a.m., police said, slightly injuring a woman, 52, one of two women in the home at the time. Armed with a rifle and shotgun, they then fled in a stolen vehicle without taking anything, police said.

All of them were located by Nassau police in Woodmere about 2:30 a.m. and arrested, police said.

They were to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court, Hempstead.
