Nassau cops arrest suspected heroin dealer

A man who sold heroin in Hicksville three times during one week last September was jailed Friday on $180,000 bail, according to court records and Nassau cops.

Steven Musolino, 26, of 12 Argyle Place in Massapequa, was arrested at his home Thursday night and was charged with three counts each of drug sales and drug possession.

Cops say Musolino sold the drugs near North Broadway on Sept. 21 at 6:45 p.m. and near Jersey Street on Sept. 26 at around 7 p.m. and Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.

He sold the heroin to a "confidential informant," said Officer Jean DeLuca, a police spokeswoman. DeLuca would not say how much the informant paid nor would she give the weight of the drugs.

An attorney for Musolino, Brad L. Wolk of Kew Gardens, said the amount of drugs his client is alleged to have sold is small -- hundredths of an ounce.

"Not hundreds, hundredths -- with a 't-h-s,'" Wolk said.

He stressed, however, that the accusation is only an allegation -- one that has not been proven.

"He's a 26-year-old kid who comes from a good family," Wolk said. "He's a good kid."

Wolk said his client planned to post bail.

Wolk questioned why the case is being brought nearly 10 months after the drug sale is alleged to have taken place.
