Levittown graffiti artist arrested

Nassau cops tagged an accused graffiti artist with a new signature: "JAILED."

Sean E. O'Hara, 24, of Levittown is accused of spraypainting and using a marker to ink messages such as "RWK," "FREE GANK," "POLAR" and "HAZARD" on houses, businesses and traffic signs during a 2 1/2 month spree earlier this year. He was arrested Friday afternoon because detectives linked the graffiti to him, authorities said.

"The tags and writings that are considered signatures in the graffiti world also identified the defendant," Nassau County police said.

O'Hara, allegedly did the graffiti this year between Jan. 9 and March 31, authorities said.

O'Hara, of 6 Saddler Ln., is to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead on 16 felony counts of criminal mischief, police said.
