Cops nab man after bank robbery

A Bellmore man was arrested Friday after robbing a bank, Nassau police said.

Patrick Calicho, 33, of 1920 Henry St., told a teller to give him money at 5:58 p.m. at Ridgewood Savings Bank, 2080 Bellmore Ave., police said.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, Calicho fled on foot, heading north on Bellmore, police said.

Police stopped Calicho at Beltagh and Bellmore avenues. He tried to flee and resisted arrest, police said.

One of the officers sustained minor injuries for which he was treated at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow and released. None of the 12 employees and two customers at the bank when the robbery occurred were injured, police said.

Calicho was charged with third-degree robbery, second-degree assault and resisting arrest. He was arraigned Saturday at First District Court, Hempstead.
