Cops: Uniondale man stole more than $180G from bank accounts

David Smith of Macon Place, acting "in concert with unidentified others, previously or not yet arrested," compromised the accounts of multiple Bank of America customers - then performed online transfers from those accounts into accounts over which he and the other suspects had control, Nassau police said.
The time period over which the alleged violations took place was not immediately clear Wednesday. It also was not immediately clear how Smith gained access to those bank accounts.
Police said Smith was charged with two counts each of first-degree identity theft and third-degree grand larceny, as well as one count of first-degree scheming to defraud.
He was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court,
