Police warn Hempstead residents of rash of armed robberies

Police are warning residents in Hempstead to be extra careful after a recent rash of robberies by a group men carrying a machete.
Police warn Hempstead residents of rash of armed robberies

Police say last Friday, a group of three or four men robbed two victims along Front Street and Broadfield Road. They say the robbers held up more people later that night on Fairview Boulevard at around 3 a.m.

The suspects are also believed to be behind a similar robbery that happened Monday near the intersection of Hamilton Road and Rodgers Street.

Police say these suspects are considered highly dangerous and anyone confronted should not try to fight them off. None of the victims were hurt during the robberies.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
