Police bust Oceanside man in Oxycodone sting

An Oceanside man sold 40 tablets of the prescription painkiller Oxycodone to an undercover police officer Wednesday night, then offered to sell the officer a handgun and ammunition, Nassau police Narcotics Vice Bureau detectives said.

Bureau of Special Operations officers and narcotics detectives arrested the man, David Sparber, 41, in the 6:50 p.m. sting.

In addition to drug possession and drug sales charges, Sparber was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal sale of a weapon, the police said. A police report Thursday morning did not say where in Oceanside the alleged sale and arrest took place.

Sparber, of 3301 Oceanside Rd., faces arraignment at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday
