Cops: Burglar stole car from Jericho dealership

A man who stole a car from a Jericho car dealership early Thursday was arrested later that day, a short distance from the car lot, Nassau police said.
Jonathan Istel, 23, broke into the Westbury Chrysler Jeep building at 41 Jericho Tpke., at 12:05 a.m., police said.
He entered the building by climbing through a back window, then went to the manager's office and forced open locked boxes of car keys, police said. He removed the keys for a 2005 Audi convertible, found the car on the lot, and drove off, police said.
Second Precinct police Officers arrested Istel at 6:55 p.m. at 101 Jericho Tpke., Jericho, "after a witness notified the police," a police report said. The report said the police do not have a home address for Istel.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and grand larceny, and faces arraignment Friday at First District Court, Hempstead.
