2 arrested in Hicksville robbery attempt

Nassau police arrested two teenagers early Sunday after a failed robbery attempt in the parking lot of a Hicksville Target store.

The defendants, Ivan Bonilla, 17, of Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay and Cory Bies, 16, of Newport Drive in Plainview, accosted a 28-year-old woman outside the Broadway Mall store, police said. The victim, whom police did not identify, wrestled away from the teenagers before they took anything, police said.

Bies and Bonilla were arrested a short time later and charged with second-degree attempted robbery, police said. They have been charged with adults and are due in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, police said.
