Cops arrest Hicksville man on burglary charges

A Hicksville man was arrested on burglary charges Saturday after police pulled over his car and found items including a 42" plasma television and jewelry inside, Nassau police said.
James Murphy, 49, of Dartmouth Drive is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead on charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Around 3:35 a.m. Saturday, police received a call about a suspicious vehicle that had been driving around a Woodbury neighborhood, and a responding officer pulled the car over, police said. The officer arrested Murphy for unlawful possession of marijuana, and during an impound inventory of his car the burglary proceeds were discovered, police said.
In addition to jewelry and the plasma television, police also found camera equipment and personal papers in the name of the victim, police said.
