Gunfire at club in Hicksville

Nassau police are investigating a report of shots fired in the vicinity of a Hicksville motel and bar early Friday morning.

A call came in at 2:37 a.m. reporting the incident on South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville, the police said. No further details were immediately available Friday morning from the overnight crew of investigators, the police said.

A receptionist at the Days Inn, at 828 South Oyster Bay Rd. in Hicksville, said Friday morning that the shooting took place outside Olivium, a lounge at the same address as the Days Inn.

Thursday night's theme at Olivium "was hip-hop night", the receptionist said. She did not provide her name.

The motel receptionist said the police had already concluded their investigation by dawn.
