Cops Nab 3 on Gun Charges

April 30, 2009 - Police responding to a call of shots fired in Roosevelt early Wednesday evening saw seven males in the rear yard of a home - three of them in possession of four semi-automatic handguns and a revolver and another who had an open arrest warrant from South Carolina, authorities said.
The incident occurred in the area of Maple Street and the Roosevelt Preserve. Nassau County Police said they arrested the four men in the yard of 9 Lenox Avenue at 5:53 p.m.
Arrested were: William Ferguson, 19, of Underhill Avenue, Roosevelt; Kenneth Parker, 22, of West Centennial Avenue, Roosevelt; Raheim McCallum, 30, of Leonard Avenue, Freeport; and, Steven Townsend, 20, of Roach Road, Hollywood, S.C. Police said Ferguson, Parker and McCallum were each charged with five counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Parker and McCallum also were charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Ferguson was charged with two counts.
All three men are to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
