Arrest in scam at Green Acres Mall

A Queens man was arrested Tuesday after he tried to use a stolen Pennsylvania driver's license to order $7,000 in merchandise from a Home Depot store in Valley Stream, the Nassau police said.

Yakeem Cobb, 27, of Queens Village, caused a minor injury to a police officer while struggling against arresting officers at the Green Acres Mall store, the police said.

He is charged with resisting arrest, attempted grand larceny, identity theft and possession of a forged instrument.

Cobb, of 209-10 86th Dr., Queens Village, faces arraignment Wednesday at First District Court, Hempstead. As police officers tried to arrest him, Cobb pushed and struggled, causing a cut to an arresting officer's finger, the police said.
