Five teens charged with first-degree robbery

Five teens from Massapequa and Massapequa Park face first-degree robbery charges in court Monday after one of them threatened the victims with a metal baton and demanded cash, the Nassau police said.

Arrested in the Seaford robbery were Daniel Regan, 17, of 201 Tryconnel Ave., Stephen Minchella, 17, of 33 Sixth Ave., Bryan Grimaldi, 17, of 54 Leewater Ave. and Christopher Montgomery, 16, of 283 Second Ave., all of Massapequa Park; and Robert Ruppert, 17, of 119 Connecticut Ave., Massapequa.

They robbed two men at 10 p.m. Saturday night on Jackson Avenue in Seaford, just south of Merrick Road, the police said. After threatening the two men with the baton the suspects stole their property, then drove off in a 1996 Cadillac, the police said. A police report did not give details on what kind of property they took from the victims, who were not injured.

Seventh Precinct patrol officers found the Cadillac and arrested the five suspects at 11:05 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Jackson and Waverly avenues.

The five face arraignment Monday in First District Court, Hempstead Village.
