Cops: Armed bicyclists rob teen in Uniondale

Police put the brakes on one-third of a bicycle-riding stickup trio in Uniondale on Monday shortly after the robbery of a teen, Nassau County police said.
Suspected robber Leonard Budden, together with two accomplices, forced the 19-year-old victim to hand over a wallet and cell phone by threatening him with a handgun on Paff Avenue near Jerusalem Avenue around 7:30 p.m., police said.
The three robbers fled on bicycles, police said. Budden was arrested after a police officer spotted him near Grenada and Park avenues in Roosevelt, police said. The handgun used in the robbery was recovered, too, police said. The other two suspects remain at large.
Detectives are investigating who brandished the gun, police said. The victim appears to have been targeted at random.
Budden, 22, of 2 Williams St., Roosevelt, was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, police said. He was to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
