Nassau police arrested two West Hempstead men in a string of burglaries in the county over the past several months.

Eugene Munlin, 20, of Parkside Road, and Diondre Corbett, 18, of Iris Place, were arrested Friday after breaking into a home on Carol Street in Lakeview, police said. The pair broke into the home by throwing a brick through a glass window, and they proceeded to fill a knapsack with jewelry and coins, police said.

Police said they responded and found Munlin hiding in a closet after a witness called 911. Corbett, who fled, was found later on Woodfield Road in Lakeview, police said. All of the proceeds from the burglary were recovered, police said.

Police said they connected Corbett to three other burglaries in Elmont, North Bellmore and Franklin Square and a petit larceny in East Garden City. Munlin was connected to two West Hempstead burglaries, police said. The burglaries began in July, police said.

Corbett was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, petit larceny and two counts of second-degree criminal trespass, police said. Munlin was charged with three-counts of second-degree burglary.

Both men were scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
