Nassau to step up DWI enforcement over weekend

Unless you wouldn't mind seeing your mug shot plastered on the so-called "Wall of Shame," don't drink and drive in Nassau County this Labor Day weekend.

Nassau County police have announced a "Stop DWI" crackdown campaign -- with grant money funding the allocation of additional officers who will conduct what police are calling "an extensive DWI enforcement initiative" this weekend.

Since Memorial Day weekend, Nassau police have arrested more than 900 drivers for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Most of the drivers arrested by police have ended up with their booking mug shots posted on a "Wall of Shame," a gallery established to highlight DWI arrests
