Police chief to help Big Easy rebuild
Nassau Police Commissioner James Lawrence has been asked to join five other law enforcement chiefs across the country to form a task force that will help New Orleans rebuild its police department, Nassau police said.
Lawrence traveled to Washington, D.C., Wednesday with the other task force members to identify and attempt to tackle the new issues facing the hurricane-ravaged city and region, Nassau police said. The other chiefs and commissioners invited by the U.S. attorney general's office to join the task force were from Las Vegas; Montgomery County, Md.; Fort Worth, Texas; Louisville, Ky., and Sacramento, Calif

While Commissioner Lawrence is away, The PBA encourages him to appoint someone to begin rebuilding the infrastructure of the Nassau County Police Department.

As seen in these various photos that were taken in the various precincts around Nassau County, The Nassau County Police Department infrastructure is in dire need of help. As you look through the photos, please make note of crumbled foundations, exposed wires, damaged plumbing, and unsafe indoor working conditions.
